G4S India joins the fight against COVID-19 : Rajeev Sharma, Country Managing Director

As the world is grappling with the outbreak of novel Coronavirus disease and the number of positive cases in India has breached three-thousand mark, we, at, G4S India, also have stepped up to fight the pandemic. The ongoing health emergency across the world has necessitated an extraordinary approach to safeguard individual health and ensure a protective work environment. We care for our employees and our customer who have been at the front-line to deliver our services.
As security is classified as an essential service, we have put certain processes in place to ensure business continuity and provide unhindered services to our clients. We have been maintaining a constant communication with customers through daily updates and bulletins on COVID-19. We have also kept a close track of all government notifications and shared the same with them along with an analysis of expected impact on their respective business verticals. Additionally, we have also put in a process to identify clients that have travelled from the countries where the virus cases are high and taking additional precautionary measures like temperature checks.
Health and safety of our employees who are in the front-line has been the paramount concern for us. We have always aimed to provide our employees with an environment where they can perform their best. We have fully enabled our management teams to work from home and all support is being provided, so that it remains in a position to service the customers and provide support to other employees who are on ground. Compliance is one of the key pillars of G4S, therefore, we are ensuring that we are fully compliant with all advisories and notifications sent out and an absolute transparency is maintained with the customers.
We have been ensuring that all major announcements and schemes launched by the government are communicated to our employees to make them aware of their rights. We have also been collating and sharing lists of hospitals where employees could go to in case, they suspect the symptoms of Corona Virus.
We have conducted safety training programmes for our 1,35,000+ staff in all our offices as well our customer sites, across the country. These briefings also covered topics like types of health hazards, ways to protect self and colleagues, precautions to be taken and the Dos and Don’ts to stay safe from the outbreak of the virus. Under this endeavour, we have distributed over 50000+ high grade face masks, 2000+ sanitizers and 100+ temperature scanners, and is continued to be distributed till date to better equip G4S personnel to keep themselves safe from the outbreak.
Being a global entity and a responsible corporate, we have been following all prescribed protocols of sanitization and contact tracing practices as advised by the government and health departments. Our team has been closely working with the government and relevant authorities who have been working relentlessly to contain the situation.
As a part of services, G4S India also has been providing a specialized disinfecting and sanitising service for office facilities and other commercial spaces. This service is going to be very effective and necessary in the post lockdown phase, when the country would get back to work. As COVID-19 is a highly transmittable disease, the control and prevention of the disease needs frequent cleaning, sanitizing and fumigation of the office premises, factories, hotels, malls and other private as well as public places.
In this testing time, we assure our customers of the best in class services alongside safety and hygiene of our staff too. We, at G4S India, are committed to stay put & help everyone stay healthy & safe.
