Former Railway Board chairman Ashwani Lohani is all set to start his second tenure as Air India CMD.

His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday.

Air India financial struggle is no secret and Narendra Modi Government has again shown faith in Mr Lohani’s capabilities. He first started his tenure with Air India on August 2015 which lasted till August 2017.

Ashwani Lohani retired as Railway Board chairman in December 2018 and is the man behind Train 18, India’s fastest train that is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister on Feb 15.
